I am not the Zucc
depends. Are you in the sahara desert and dying of dehydration? Beer will actually hydrate you. Wine will too but far less efficiently and you'll be getting fall down drunk before you restore your hydration levels. Scotch will straight up kill you.

So yes, I would recommend beer.

However, if you're NOT dying of dehydration in the sahara desert? Drink whatever you want.

Lol beer is a diuretic. Only table-beer which is like 2% offers a semblance of hydration. And people only drank beer because the water was so shit back then

another instance of catfish saying some jerry-rigged opinions straight from his stream of consciousness without really paying attention to what's happening or much anything at all, and it ends up looking just as stupid as one would expect

When you are severely dehydrated, your body releases high levels of vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone) to shut down urine production and conserve every drop of fluid.

While alcohol suppresses vasopressin, in a state of severe dehydration, your body's drive to retain water fights back against the alcohol's diuretic effect.

Research on athletes has shown that when the body is already dehydrated, the diuretic effect of beer is "blunted." In other words, because you are so dry, your kidneys will not flush out fluid as aggressively as they would if you were well-hydrated at a bar.

So while alcohol is generally a diuretic (meaning it makes you urinate), the water content in a light beer like Bud Light is high enough that it will still provide a net hydration benefit, likely keeping you alive longer than drinking nothing at all.

If you are truly dying of dehydration in the Sahara and your only option is Bud Light, you should drink it.
