i really really dont want to get my hopes up for the backrooms movie, all the atmospheric appeal of kane pixel's backrooms was the VHS filter and period correct found footage liminal space analog horror, the trailer shows significant parts filmed crystal clear, it really takes away from the atmosphere, no clear entities, just alternate history worldbuilding with A-sync's vaguely dystopian yet realistic concept of capitalizing on the backrooms by trying to sell it as retail storage space while not even being able to walk around inside without time flowing non-linearly around you, and just the sinking dread that you're trapped in an endless space completely alone with signs that you're not actually alone
also renditions of the backrooms that put all the emphasis on entities and hundreds of "levels" can fuck right off, pure zoomer slop trying to turn an interesting idea into a gay SCP clone that shoehorns in every tired liminal space photo into it's own separate "level".

In the videogame "escape the backrooms" I enjoyed the levels Fun and Fun+ because ive never been to a party or rave and it was really nice seeing glowsticks and stuff like that.
