and for good reason, what good did shallow words from a stranger really ever do, it soesnt change their situation, and your words of help from their perspective feel far more shallow and less thought out than their own emotions
it might seem wrong but havent you ever revealed something really bad that happened to you, you told a friend or relative, and while they showed sadness in the moment they seem to quickly go back to how they were treating you before, and you realize that despite how deeply that something affected yourself, it could never be more than a passing thought every now and then to that person
