I have no relation to my physical environment. It's all property and I have no right to modify it. Every space outside of my house feels like somewhere between A and B. It never feels 100% comfortable to rest in.

Even my house isn't really mine.
They expect me to care about my country, I don't even care about the people next door to me. The world is filled with people I don't know and things I don't own. That is true whether I am in my home country or Iran.

i feel that way about smartphones.
luckily my desktop computer doesn't have the problem thanks to Linux.
but when i had a dumbphone it felt like the phone was mine. I could change the settings and do anything i wanted. I actually owned the phone. Now you gotta log into a google account to do anything, and you never know if the camera or mic are spying on you because I can't root or jailbreak the phone. Windows was very quickly becoming like this and Im sure glad i abandoned that ship

OP here.
I feel that way too, I'm also on linux (CachyOS).
Windows and Android feel like a panopticon, not a home. Linux is personal and that's why governments hate it. I don't want their IDslop on my machine. I'll switch to BSD if I have to, user freedom is everything.

Why would you? Do you believe that's something that should be bestowed upon you just for existing?
>>12830529
if i buy a thing, then i should own the thing and be able to do anything i want to it.
i get it, there's """intellectual property""". but that shouldnt be forced on everyone. in this age everyone has to have a smartphone to do online banking and whatnot. then you force us to have a google account in order to use said device. why? this is literally 1984.

My life is one series of ironic events after another. I sleep every night because it is trendy, but I don't actually rest. Resting is sincerity and honesty, it's a thing that grounds us to the core of being human and refreshes the senses, which obscure minds have ruled out as "completely and totally bullshit". And so, even if my eyes are squeezed shut and my chest heaves gently with the rolling march of involuntary function, I am not at rest. I am simply in a stage of incoherence. Every morning I wake up and drink water, and I smile while doing so, as the central idea of drinking water is done to alleviate a sincere bodily need: thirst. I do so out of artistic and authorial humor. The idea of thirst is is not so much manufactured as it is something to be overcome through the power of irony. My day progresses in this fashion, while I contemplate how tomorrow I can further overcome my own sense of irony and the profound lack of genuine interests in my own life

yes, I would rather believe that I have a right to interact with my environment than believe that I should kiss the hand of my landlord and be grateful that I am not just locked in a cage and fed worms.
I was born into a world where everything is owned by someone else and I am expected to exist on their terms. It's humiliating, there's no dignity in playing along with that. And what am I supposed to aspire to? To become a tyrant myself? To be the guy that people rent their shoes from? I don't want to be rule or be ruled. I am a force of nature and if I can't get what I need, I will take it, the lack of sympathy is mutual.

And why would you have that? Again, just for existing? If you are endowed with such a right just for existing, wouldn't your landlord be also? Do you REALLY think landlords deserve rights? Because that's what you're advocating for here.
>It's humiliating, there's no dignity in playing along with that.
Where did you get the idea that dignity was guaranteed to provided in this universe? Did you ask the deer, as the wolf eats her young in front of her, where she thought dignity was? Did you ask the young african girl, raped by modern day bandits, where she thought it lie? Why should you have dignity over them?
>I am a force of nature and if I can't get what I need, I will take it, the lack of sympathy is mutual.
I thought you didn't want to be a tyrant, and yet this is how tyrants think.
All of these things considered, you still believe you are owed whatever you want, respect, and dignity?

>>12830671
There is such thing as common ownership, landlords are antithetical to this. I have already made it clear that I do not want to own or be owned. This idea makes landlords piss themselves. The middle and upper class feel existentially threatened by rejection of hierarchy.
>Where did you get the idea that dignity was guaranteed to be provided in this universe?
Why in the fuck should I care? Are people not allowed to have nice things? Are people not allowed to look out for others? To look out for themselves? If someone doesn't have dignity they should take it. That is called will.
If you really believe yourself to be a wolf and that others are sheep, you have nothing to fear.
>I thought you didn't want to be a tyrant, and yet this is how tyrants think
Yes you're so right. Slaves overthrowing their owners are very sympathetic towards them.
>All of these things considered, you still believe you are owed whatever you want, respect, and dignity?
>owed
you either give them to me or I'm taking them. If you're saying that I am not owed respect and dignity then you have already made my choice for me.

> Linux is personal
I remember when I first tried out Linux years ago. I was initially just studying it so that I could work in the tech field and prove my knowledge. When I first installed it on my laptop and started really getting in to the weeds with the Terminal, it upended my entire understanding of what computers were and what they could be.

That invisible boundary that existed in much of my life, similar to what the OP described, was suddenly gone. I could tinker and experiment without someone getting in the way and insisting I do things in their particular way for their particular purpose. It was, nice.

THE DEMONS ARE SCREAMING THROUGH YOUR WORDS YOU FOUL MEN

everyword that you just vomited out is black and rotten and drecnhed with the stink of the fallen ones pride. you call yourslef a force of nature? nature herself trembles at the name of the lord. trees bow and storms hush when he speaks, but do you??? you slither around claiming the righ tto take what the most HIGH HAS PLACED UNDETER HIS STRewaRDSHIP??
interaction with you enviormnet? thats code for STWWALING THE PORTION OF LAND GOD ALLOCATED TO ONE ANOTHER. every blade of grass, every brick of wall, eveyrt footstep, all of it is marked by the creators fingerprint!! you think you can just take it away because your pride has been wounded?? you would take rather then bow???? you think that you are above bowing? you think that you are the men amomg men?? flee from this madness before it consumes you,....
>>12830671
> And why would you have that? Again, just for existing? If you are endowed with such a right just for existing, wouldn't your landlord be also?
This line of thinking seems flawed, as if designed to lead the reader in to a trap.
One isn't owed food and water, but it is undeniable that they will die if they eat and drink nothing.
One isn't owed clothing, but it is undeniable that a man's body will have difficulty surviving the elements without them.
One isn't owed a roof over their head, but it is undeniable life is more difficult without one.

It's not arrogance to want such things. The word "rights" may trigger bad feelings, but this doesn't mean that the desire to live and live better is somehow a moral failing.

>>12830689
>landlords are antithetical to this.
So is the idea that just existing gives you the right to modify your environment. Should that not be something to be decided democratically? Is that thinking not how landlords came about in the first place? That an individual deserves such a right? And that to reinforce that right, or more aptly their claim, violence is justified?
>you either give them to me or I'm taking them.
A tyrant's mind. Those aren't something you can just take. Landlords just took them and you see how much they're "respected".
>If you really believe yourself to be a wolf and that others are sheep, you have nothing to fear.
I believe myself to be a meek human. And I fear that I am surrounded by tyrants and wanna be tyrants, who threaten hundreds of thousands of years of human progress for their own self serving ends. Self serving ends like believing they have right to do what they feel just because they exist.
I see the entire house of cards coming crashing down. I see unending misery and darkness. I see those who would justify it with grand ideals that in the end are there just to serve themselves. I see our people standing on the edge of a blade, primed to fall at any moment.
Indeed I am afraid. Very afraid.
>>12830731
>This line of thinking seems flawed, as if designed to lead the reader in to a trap.
It's not. It's a simple mental exercise. If the individual has the right to modify their environment, then by definition so do landlords. If landlords don't then not every individual deserves such a right.
I'm getting too serious for the nice board.
I'll shut up now.
